A setback occurred this month, resulting in a move downwards to 5.2%. The culprits were easily identifiable as global investment sentiments cooled with sticky inflation rates. My debt and equity related instruments all dropped. A rebound of the crypto holdings didn't help as it's still a small overall portion. To stem cash value erosion, I kept some idle cash into Tbills, with little war chest on standby at this point. My thinking is to await the situation for interest rates to stabilize which in my opinion will take at least three months to see a sliver of conclusion. During this period, maturing Tbills will recycle into liquidity backup. A new position was taken on gold in the form of put forward with strike at US$4000/ounce. This is a defensive strategy to balance out the portfolio's volatility. I was a gold skeptic but after seeing the moves of many central banks, they must know something more than I do, therefore I thought to include it now.
